2006 Florida Senate Race
In Florida, Republicans have been waiting on Katharine Harris to decide whether she will seek the Republican nomination for some time now. It appears that she is close to making up her mind, and some Republicans are fearful that Harris will actually run. However, because she is perceived as such a strong candidate in a Republican primary, few other potential candidates are willing to take the plunge.
Were Harris not to run, the likely GOP nominee would be Congressman Mark Foley who has around two milion dollars on hand. Of course, I am afraid that Democrats would sink his candidacy with the inevitable gay rumors. We may be stuck with Harris.
UPDATE: Both Strategic Vision polls on this race have shown Nelson leading Harris by about seven points.
